چکیده

Agroforestry is a promising adaptation measure for climate change, especially low external inputs smallholder maize farming systems. However, due to its long-term nature and heterogeneity across farms landscapes, it difficult quantitatively evaluate contribution in building the resilience of systems change over large areas. In this study, we developed an approach simulate emulate shading, micro-climate regulation biomass effects multi-purpose trees agroforestry system on yields using APSIM, taking Ethiopia as case study. Applying model impacts showed that at national level, yield will increase by 7.5 3.1 % 2050 under RCP2.6 RCP8.5, respectively. This projected national-level driven increases six administrative zones whereas losses are expected other five (mean ?6.8% ?11.7% RCP8.5), with four remaining stable overtime. emulated leads current future climatic conditions compared monocultures, particularly regions which expected. A 10% shade reduce 6.9% (RCP2.6) 4.2 (RCP8.5) while 20% 11.5% 11% loss zones. Overall, our results show buffers areas have Ethiopia, therefore should be part climate-resilient agricultural

The Impact of Climate Change on Yield Potential of Maize across China

Maize is one of the major crops in China and its yield potential has been changedsignificantly by climate change induction during last five decades. The national policy of maizeproduction sufficiency emphasizes the necessity for a more accurate estimation of yieldpotential of maize at a national level. In this paper yield potential of maize was calculated usingthe Global Agro-Ecological Zones (...

Climate Change and Maize Yield in Iowa

Climate is changing across the world, including the major maize-growing state of Iowa in the USA. To maintain crop yields, farmers will need a suite of adaptation strategies, and choice of strategy will depend on how the local to regional climate is expected to change. Here we predict how maize yield might change through the 21st century as compared with late 20th century yields across Iowa, US...

Simulation yield of maize based on scenarios of climate change in Fars province

The purpose of this research is the simulation of the maize function to scenario of climate change to the present and future. So to survey the region climate, daily data, maximum and minimum temperature, precipitation and radiation have been utilized during the period of (1987-2016). In order to simulating of climate in future, firstly the date of IPCM4 model under scenario and 30’s and 50’s wi...

Spatio-Temporal Dynamics of Maize Yield Water Constraints under Climate Change in Spain

Many studies have analyzed the impact of climate change on crop productivity, but comparing the performance of water management systems has rarely been explored. Because water supply and crop demand in agro-systems may be affected by global climate change in shaping the spatial patterns of agricultural production, we should evaluate how and where irrigation practices are effective in mitigating...

Agriculture on the Brink: Climate Change, Labor and Smallholder Farming in Botswana

Botswana is a semi-arid, middle-income African country that imports 90 percent of its food. Despite its relative prosperity, Botswana also suffers from one of the highest measures of income inequality in the world, persistent poverty, and relatively high levels of food insecurity. The objective of this paper is to explore how political economy, climate change and livelihood dynamics are synergi...
